  • Speaker's List

  • Moderated Caucus (Discuss position paper)

  • Moderated Caucus (Find solutions)

  • Unmoderated Caucus (Redact Working papers)

  • Joking Session

KEY CONCEPTS:

SP
  • Speaker's Presentation:

The first session an expert on the topic explains it to the delegates. Delegates can ask their final doubts about the topic to the speaker. Nevertheless, remember to prepare before MUNIO your doubts, since there is no much time to the questions

  • Speaker's List.

Delegates read their positions papers, and other delegates can ask them questions about their position.

  • Moderated Caucus

The moderated caucus is a normal debate in which delegates would have to: question the position of the delegate, look for a solution to the problematic, discuss the working paper and give ideas to redact the resolution paper.

  • Unmoderated Caucus

The unmoderated caucus is a time where the delegates would have to redact the working paper or the resolution paper, blocks are seen in this session, but try to start making alliances before, in order not to lose time searching for countries that can cooperate with you.

  • Position Paper

It indicates the position, that the country represented by the delegate, has about the issue that is discussed in the committee.

1. Committee (complete name and official logo)

2. Topic

3. Country: official and complete name with flag.

TIPS:

Keep it simple: To communicate strongly and effectively, avoid flowery wording and stick to uncomplicated language and sentence structure. Stick to the main ideas; try not to give unnecessary information.

Get organized: Give each separate idea or proposal its own paragraph.

Make sure each paragraph starts with a topic sentence.

Read and reread: Leave time to edit your position paper. Ask yourself if the organization of the paper makes sense and double-check your spelling and grammar.

Be specific: Try not to let your proposals become lost in a sea of information. For speechmaking, create a bulleted list of your proposals along with your most important facts and statistics so that you will not lose time looking for them during debate.

Calculate your time: The recommended time is 1:00-1:30 minutes.

Be prepared: When finished reading your position paper, delegates can ask you questions about it, so try to be informed (in case you do not know what to answer, you can do it at the moderated caucus)
